After retiring I worked part time for a couple of years. In 1995 Helen and I sold our house to our son TJ—who joined the department in December 1993—and purchased a 32-foot motorhome. In November 1995 we embarked on a venture that lasted nearly two years and took us through all but four of the contiguous 48 states. It was the best trip we ever took. In 1997 we settled in the Tampa area, Florida, and later built a house near downtown Tampa.
